About the Role:
The Assistant General Counsel, Legal Data Intelligence position sits at the intersection of law, technology, data and advanced workflow engineering and automation. Reporting to the VP of Legal, Strategy, Compliance & Operations, this role focuses on leveraging AI, analytics, and process automation to transform how the Legal Team delivers services. You will blend strategic planning with hands-on execution-leading eDiscovery initiatives, shaping AI-based enablement strategies, implementing advanced analytics, and refining legal workflows (including Contract Lifecycle Management, Legal Request Management and Knowledge Management). By building and leading a cutting-edge Legal Data Intelligence practice, you will help drive consistent, data-driven decision-making and innovation across the Legal department.
What You'll Do:
- Develop & Oversee eDiscovery Optimization & Coordination: Build on CrowdStrike's existing eDiscovery framework to implement defensible data preservation, collection, and advanced review strategies, ensuring efficiency, precision, compliance and consistency across CrowdStrike's docket.
- Drive AI Strategy & Implementation: Create and maintain a Legal AI roadmap-integrating AI agents and other generative AI tools into CLM, workflow management, knowledge management, and other legal processes to streamline tasks and improve user experiences.
- Innovate with Advanced Analytics: Utilize data analysis and custom dashboards to generate, refine, and report on legal KPIs (e.g., workload stats, project ROI, and other success metrics), enabling data-driven decisions and resource allocation.
- Establish a Data Intelligence Framework: Lead the development of secure, trustworthy AI/data environments to provide reliable searches, interactions, and insights across Legal data sets, including playbooks, policies, and guidance materials.
- Enable Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, compliance, product, engineering, and other stakeholders to align AI-driven initiatives with business objectives and mitigate eDiscovery, privacy, and compliance risks.
- Enhance Knowledge Management & Legal Workflows: Refine systems to capture key learnings, best practices, and legal guidance, driving continuous improvement within the Legal team.
- Champion Legal Tech Adoption & Culture: Provide training, resources, and an experimentation framework to help teams integrate emerging technologies into their workflows confidently and effectively.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
- 15+ years of relevant legal experience (e.g., eDiscovery, litigation, or legal operations) in a law firm and/or in-house environment, including direct eDiscovery and AI/legal tech exposure.
- Deep Knowledge of eDiscovery Practices & Tools, including EDRM workflows and AI-based review technologies.
- Proven AI/Analytics Expertise, with experience deploying or managing data-driven solutions (e.g., advanced analytics platforms, RAG frameworks, or large language model tools).
- Strategic & Leadership Skills to partner effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external counsel, influencing legal-tech strategy and driving organizational change.
- Exceptional Communication & Collaboration skills for clearly conveying legal and technical concepts to various audiences-from senior leaders to technical teams.
- Strong Process Improvement Mindset focused on automation, workflow optimization, and user-centric solutions within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience implementing AI/ML or other complex solutions in a legal or corporate environment.
- Prior experience in a technology, SaaS, or cybersecurity company.
- Familiarity with Information Governance models, regulatory frameworks, and data privacy regulations.
