Position Overview
Oversee the movement of multiple aggregates to various job sites and plants as needed. Verify optimal routes and movements at load and unload sites. This position relies on superior communication skills with both internal and external parties - dispatch, hired haulers, customers, maintenance personnel, and project teams. Responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment by addressing safety and personnel concerns in a timely manner while collaborating with dispatch and Transportation manager.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage multiple internal and external drivers for operations to include accurate tracking and verifying of time worked.
- As issues arise, take appropriate action. Communicates with the appropriate parties, such as internal project managers, forepersons and Dispatchers to solve transportation related problems.
- Directly oversee internal and external drivers fit for duty and report any concerns to Transportation Manager.
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits and following company processes and procedures as well as conduction safety/ tool box discussions.
- Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills.
- Monitor Fleet VCR to oversee repair needs are being communicated to Maintenance personnel and ensure trucks are operating within DOT rules and regulations.

- Displays a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and public in general at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Must be willing to drive to plant locations and jobsites across the region.
- Report to the assigned office or job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
- Ensures that the workplace is kept in a neat, clean, and safe condition.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, License, Registrations
- Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A with appropriate endorsements.
- Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of aggregate variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee's primary environment will be in an office setting, the employee could work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, extreme heat or cold or could be exposed to vibration if visiting work sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but may require protective equipment when visiting noisy areas.
