Position Overview
The Strategic Projects Manager will be responsible for the coordination and execution of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects across Staker Parson's internal operations. Reporting to the Vice President, this individual will oversee projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with company objectives, safety standards, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ensure compliance with all CRH, OSHA, and MSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Oversee all aspects of Strategic and CAPEX projects, from initial planning and design to execution, commissioning, and closeout.
• Prepares project budgets and cost reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and review project scopes, budgets, and schedules while ensuring timely completion.
• Implement effective project tracking, reporting, and communication with executive leadership and steering committees.
• Lead site supervision and contractor management to ensure adherence to project plans, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Identify and mitigate capital project risks, including scope changes, material delays, and unforeseen site challenges.
• Drive innovation and process improvements, incorporating the latest technology to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Utilize industry best practices in project execution, financial management, and quality assurance.
• Maintain thorough documentation and lessons learned to optimize future projects.
• Participates in value engineering services as appropriate.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) from four-year college / university or equivalent experience.
• Engineer and / or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred, but not required.
• At least 5 years' experience in supporting and / or managing projects in heavy construction and / or process industry.
• Proven experience and leadership in managing multiple projects preferred.
• Strong ability to gain trust and create alignment across the organization to help drive project execution.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and associated calculations.
• Knowledge of advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Products, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software.

• Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Business acumen in manufacturing, distribution and/or construction operations.
• Strong action orientation and drive for results.
• Strong oral/written communication, presentation and listening skills.
• The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
• The ability to lead effective teams.
Work Requirements
• Travel 50%+/-
• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
• Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
• Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Able to climb ladders or stairs and to work at heights.
• Able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
Normal office working conditions in addition to industrial plant sites and quarries, requiring the usage of personal protective equipment, e.g., hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to drive up to 8 hours for onsite services and meetings.
• The position may require work outside of normal business hours in response to critical incidents or business-impacting project deliverables.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud but is typically moderate.
