Position Overview
The Regional Technical Services Manager is responsible for providing technical expertise, support and guidance to the East Texas Materials Technical Services department, external/internal customers, and sales team ensuring the highest product quality and customer service. They will build partnerships with other leaders and their teams working collaboratively to meet shared company objectives. They must demonstrate continuous leadership in supporting our core values: People, Character, Performance, and Innovation.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Strictly adhere to all applicable regulations including (MSHA) Mine Safety and Health Administration and (OSHA) Occupational Safety and Health Administration aggregate production, safety, environmental, state, federal, and company policies; ensure observance and compliance of such regulations.
- Support and lead the Technical Services team in safe production activities with the goal of sustaining ZERO incidents.
- Provide proactive consultation in the areas of product performance, mix optimizations, best practices, troubleshooting, and technical training.
- Maintain QC/QA processes for facilities to ensure Texas Materials meets and exceeds commercial, residential, state, and federal requirements.
- Create awareness among personnel regarding KPI's (key performance indicators) and cost control.
- Involvement in technical organizations such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) as well as various ready-mix concrete organizations with emphasis at the local or regional level
- Support product quality and customer service by maintaining a strong line of communication with all lines of business, management, and their teams.
- Manage effective internal communication with the sales team to satisfy concrete submittal packages and testing deadlines.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise from customers by analyzing and evaluating specific conditions or situations to the best benefit of the company and the customer.
- Effectively manage employee performance through (FLT) Frontline Leadership Training that includes but is not limited to coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary.
- Mentor others in the areas of technical, operational, customer relations and supervisory functions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Materials Engineering, other engineering fields will also be considered based on relevance and/or minimum of 10 years in concrete or concrete products quality control.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Technical Services Manager in concrete, cement, or concrete admixtures with a staff or 2 or more employees.
- Proven ability to understand technical aspects of concrete design and production.
- Strong interpersonal skills including effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with different levels of management.
- Computer skills in Word, Power Point, and Excel. Preferred experience in concrete design programs.
