Position Overview

The Rail Unloading Operator will be responsible for all aspects of the rail loading and unloading, plant maintenance, and loading and ticketing of customer sales. Work will be performed per the supervisor's instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as, maintain the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Properly follow all company policies and procedures for a safe working environment, report any problems to the supervisor, area manager, safety director or human resources.
  • Assist in unloading of aggregate trains at Delmar, Felton and Indian River depots.
  • Assist in preventative and regular maintenance of rail unloading equipment at all rail depots.
  • Assist in loading of sand trains at Felton depot.
  • Complete risk assessments, pre-trips, workplace inspections, daily sales reports, and any other reports as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi task.
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough in all job responsibilities.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

Requirements
  • Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.


Education/Experience
  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years operating heavy equipment or related experience preferred
