Position Overview

This position will be responsible for the full cycle of parts and supplies for the Southern Division Materials Group.

  • Drive safety engagement across facilities daily.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for parts ordering and shipping.
  • Kit parts for scheduled jobs and maintain inventory Division Shop.
  • Collaborate with field personnel and stakeholders to refine specifications and increase value of purchases.
  • Align strategies with other business units, focusing on key spend categories.
  • Champion vendor data management, coordinate quotes, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Maintain Purchase Order system and uphold 5S standards in department.
  • Occasionally pick up and deliver parts, acting as a liaison between vendors and company.
  • Be aware of and drive adoption of sourced programs,
  • Coordinate the process of obtaining quotes and/or requests for proposals from potential vendors, as needed.
  • Maintain an understanding of current inventory levels and future demands to assist the business.
  • Monitor/research order history of similar products and services purchased to evaluate/track differences in costs, delivery, quality and performance.

  • Flexibility to travel and work away from home as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED is required - associate's degree preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and ideally possessing a mechanical background.
  • 2-3 years of purchasing/procurement experience or relevant industry experience is required.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical/Analytical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Competency with Microsoft Office and company-specific procurement tools

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud and may require protective equipment.
