Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator ensures the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to fulfill and meet company requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria.
  • Developing and optimizing vendor relationships.
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deal on behalf of the company.
  • Enter requisitions into database in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Place orders and expedite as needed to insure timely delivery.
  • Review any invoice discrepancies. Apply to suppliers with requests for credits or adjustments.
  • Negotiate freight charges and identify the most efficient and cost-effective movement.
  • Direct communication with manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless operation of the facility with minimal disruption of production.
  • Handle inventory counting and data entry.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.


Job Requirements

  • Excellent writing and organizational skills are essential.
  • Effective communication skills used across multiple internal departments and external contracts as required.
  • 2+ years prior purchasing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office is essential.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Associates Degree is a plus.


Compensation

  • Target hourly rate is $25.00 to $30.00
  • Yearly bonus eligible
