Position Overview
If you're a construction professional looking for the next step in your career, our team can provide you with a fun and challenging opportunity to grow with an industry leader. In this role, you'll manage all aspects of public and private heavy civil construction projects of various sizes by preparing estimates and bid packages and managing each project through to completion. You'll serve as the primary point of contact to communicate project costs, staffing, scheduling, and updates with contractors. As the Project Manager, you'll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, production and labor estimates.
- Consult with clients, vendors and others to discuss, resolve issues.
- Maintain current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials.
- Physically measure, assess the condition, and assist in takeoffs for estimate .
- Manage projects awarded from scheduling, resource allocation, cost projections, and billing.
- Check daily cost sheets for correctness, compliance with estimated cost, and if over budget, find out why and report to management .
- Prior to job startup, review with the job foreman the project plans, specifications and review the project startup list to ensure that each item is done.
- Assist Estimating by providing feedback on job progress as opposed to as estimated .
- Assist Estimating as available by performing field measurements determining sources.
- Check that foreman's job quantities are correct and submitted.
- Maintain, in conjunction with the hot plant operator, adequate oil supplies and fuels to meet the project's needs.Review Hot plant reports, crusher reports, job reports .
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related field preferred. Heavy civil construction skills and techniques including knowledge of asphalt paving, dirt work, excavation, underground utilities, and related areas preferred; or an equivalent of education and experience will be accepted .
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. .
- Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Proficient with PC & Microsoft Office systems, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong customer service, leadership, problem solving, decision making and organization skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment controlled substance testing.
- Demonstrates the ability to work some nights and weekends as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
