Position Overview

In this role you will collaborate with and support our Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and cross-functional team members to solve customer problems and elevate Oldcastle's product offering. You will contribute to the future of some of Oldcastle's most used products and features, with an opportunity to learn from and interact with an extensive and passionate customer base.

As a Product Manager you'll support the team in a range of activities that strategically drives forward the product roadmap.

This includes growing our offering through the design and development of new solutions. Maintaining existing product lines and navigating them through the product lifecycle. And frequently engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to understand the needs of the market and business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Researching and keeping up to speed with the latest in Fronthaul/Backhaul and Outside Plant (OSP) product knowledge / technologies and sharing that knowledge with Product Management and other Oldcastle team members.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to bring new products and features to market; this includes helping our internal teams understand how products are used out in the field and communicating to sales and marking the benefits of new products and product features.
  • Strategically maintaining and positioning a product line so to achieve maximum performance from the product offering.
  • Facilitate in the Launch of products (alongside Marketing), educating our internal teams, and our customers on application and solution implementation.
  • Regularly engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to understand pain points.
  • Maintaining a strong professional and technical level of industry knowledge by attending educational workshops and trade shows; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge and expertise in telecommunications with 3+ years relevant experience. Demonstrated by a solid understanding of the FTTx market and fiber distribution practices for fronthaul/backhaul, Outside Plant SFU, MDU and commercial applications.
  • Strong technical ability and 5+ years relevant product development and hands-on work experience with physically manufactured product(s).
  • You have 3+ years of Product Management experience with a demonstrated ability to balance the needs of the customer against operational goals while simultaneously driving towards business objectives.
  • You have an academic background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. The completion of an MBA program would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective in stakeholder management
  • Must be comfortable presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams located in various geographical locations.
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity and a passion for technology would be advantageous.
  • An ability to travel within the US and Canada is needed. Travel is expected to be ~35%
  • Preference will be given to folks near an Enclosures plant (Hector, MN / Madera, CA / Sweetwater, TN / Potou OK / Napolean OH / Langley, BC)
