Pay: $20-$22 an hour, depending on experience.

Summary: All Production/Maintenance positions are interchangeable depending on production/maintenance needs. You will have a primary position during regular production, but throughout your career you can expect this primary position to change as production needs change. Whenever plant maintenance is required (at least one day per week), all employees work together on all maintenance. Job is often outdoors and weather related, involving manual skills, some math and reasoning and continuous safety applications around heavy equipment.

PRIMARY POSITIONS:

1. LOADER OPERATOR:

Competently and Efficiently operates a large Front End Wheel Loader to efficiently load shot rock onto haul trucks or load rock into customer trucks. Materials will be transported throughout the quarry into piles, trucks or crushers depending on production requirements. Must keep updated logs of completed work.

2. HAUL TRUCK OPERATOR

Competently and efficiently operates a large Haul Truck, may be hauling shot rock to crusher, crushed rock to stock piles or moving dirt/rock from various areas.

3. WATER TRUCK OPERATOR

Competently and efficiently operates filling, driving and using the water truck to water down roads and stockpiles according to MoDNR Air Permit requirements

4. PLANT OPERATOR

Competent with set up, operation and tending to the rock crushing plant based on the required production schedule. Must have full understanding plant computer automation and how to operate all parts of the plant efficiently based on the MoDNR Air Permit.

5. DOZER, EXCAVATOR, and other rolling stock equipment

Competently and efficiently operates any of the large mobile equipment based on production needs. This equipment likely will be used on rough terrain.

All positions listed above also include these Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily Workplace Exams and Pre-Shift Safety Checks must be performed on all mobile equipment. This is your first line of defense in protecting yourself from any potential Safety Hazards. You will be trained how to do these exams properly. If you have any questions about any safety hazards, ask your supervisor.

• Operate assigned machines in safe fashion as it applies to one's self and fellow crew members. Operate machine in as efficient, productive fashion possible with highest production rate applicable

• Communicate with onsite foreman of daily work requirements

• Follow designated routes adhering to safety policies and procedures in place.

• Knowledge and following of all MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations, training practices, first aid and all safety requirements designated for job duties above.

• Keeps work area clean, orderly and inform supervisor of any potential problem developments.

PLANT MAINTENANCE

All Primary positions listed above also are required to perform Plant Maintenance as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities in Plant Maintenance include (but are not limited to):

• Welding and Cutting.

• Changing conveyor belts.

• Bearing replacement.

• Changing oils/servicing

• Roller replacement.

• Changing/replacing guards

• Changing drive belts and gear boxes

• Changing screen cloths

• Adjusting crushers

• Changing wear liners/hammers

• Replace skirting

REQUIREMENT MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies and Physical Demands

While performing the duties and competencies of this job, the employee is frequently required to be:

• Able to sit for long periods of time in vehicle and bouncing on rough terrain

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time while working on plant

• Able to reach with hands and arms

• Able to use hands and fingers to handle small or large equipment

• Able to climb or balance on machinery (using fall protection when necessary)

• Able to climb up and down at least 12 ladder rungs

• Able to lift and carry around at least 75 lbs. at various times during the day. Anything over that you should ask for help.

• Have knowledge of lifting procedures (with chain ratchet, etc.)

• Able to communicate with other employees, especially in a noisy environment.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications/Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A minimum of two years of Front End Loader, dozer, excavator, quality control, mechanic or plant operator experience is needed to perform any of these duties. For Mechanic: must have experience and be capable of demonstrating use of: trouble-shooting computer equipment, torque wrenches, rulers (English & metric), feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, pressure gauges, electrical ammeters & current testers, tachometers. Must be capable of using acetylene-cutting torches, electric welders (demonstrating above average skills), hand grinders and typical mechanical devices found in construction industry.

Education

Less than high school education.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

• Climbing or driving on high, precarious places;

• Bouncing in vehicles or walking over rough terrain

• Heavy Lifting

• Extreme cold; extreme heat

• Vibration.

• Loud noise levels.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including fall protection, hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection will be provided and required whenever outside of the office, breakroom or vehicle. According to MSHA regulations, you are required to provide and wear hard-toed shoes in all positions within the quarry. Will be required to submit to random drug testing, as selected, and comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.
