Payroll Clerk - Lexington, KY.
Summary
Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records by performing the following duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and union dues to be withheld, and employee identification numbers, from time sheets and other records.
• Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
• Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
• Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and 401(k) loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
• Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
• Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
• Prepares and issues paychecks.

Education and Experience
High school diploma required, Associate's degree preferred; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Must be conscientious and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time of 8:00am.
- Adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Willingness to work in a team environment & assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Mountain employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
- Knowledge with Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Overtime may be required during peak season, including some evenings and weekends.
