PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Seeking highly motivated individual with a keen sense of detail with ability to travel to multiple locations. This person will responsible for operating a drone within an operations environment, primarily to capture aerial imagery and data for surveying stockpile volumes, monitoring excavation progress, inspecting infrastructure, and identifying potential safety hazards, all while adhering to strict safety regulations and FAA guidelines related to drone operation in industrial settings; key duties include pre-flight planning, data collection, image analysis, and generating reports for operations management. This position will report to the Director of Mine Engineering.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Requirements
- Support the safety goals and processes of the company;
- MSHA and OSHA training and regulations;
- Stay updated on drone technology advancements and relevant regulations.
- Spend time at our different assigned quarries, asphalt plants, concrete plants, stockyards, etc.
- Learn aggregate production process to meet customer and internal demands and minimize capacity conflicts;
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance - Aggregates and Mining;
- Gain an understanding of the QC/QA process and material testing procedures at Hinkle Contracting Company for all lines of business;
- Learn the material specification requirements our products are required to meet;
- Proficiency in drone flight planning software, photogrammetry software, and data analysis tools.
- Learn how we manage contract backlog and the importance of long term planning;
- Understand project profitability (revenue/costs);
- Learn the fundamentals of material pricing for aggregates;
- Develop an understanding of financial components, and how they impact the business
- Build relationships with key stakeholders at Hinkle Contracting Company;
- Providepresent reporting (not limited to) videography & imagery of various operations to support decision making in business
- Learn how to identify and resolve safety, personnel, and equipment/operational problems, in a timely and effective manner; and
- In additional to learning these aspects, the selected candidate may be required to perform general laboring duties.
- This position will require extensive travel (at least 50%) & will be required throughout the State depending on project needs.
- Analyze sales data, forecast demand, and monitor inventory levels. (help business keep tabs on capping issues)
- Identify and report on issues and trends. Escalate for review.
- Assist in any follow up research to assist the investigation.
- Communicate your findings with both effective written and oral skills to members of management team.
- Recommend process changes or system enhancements based on findings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate with the necessary waivers for operating drones in industrial environments.
- Understand compliance requirements for our operations to meet federal and state regulations including MSHA and OSHA etc.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data integration and visualization.
- Excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation.
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance;
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 highly desired
- A minimum of 2 years previous construction drone pilot experience preferred
