Position Overview

In this role, you'll help to inspect, repair, service and maintain gasoline, diesel powered and electronically operated mobile equipment. You'll learn the inner workings of each piece of equipment, become an expert at what you do and expand your skillset by working on new equipment each day. You'll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Thorough mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty construction related equipment. Wheel loader, dozers excavators and truck and trailers with air brakes.
- Performs PM services on equipment.
- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains equipment.
- Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
- Perform record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms.
- Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
- Perform cleaning and lubricating of parts.
- Repairs electrical on equipment.

- Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of vehicles
- Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
- Join Local Teamsters Union
- Safety sensitive: "Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites."
- Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate machine controls.
- General mechanical knowledge on heavy duty construction related equipment.
- Must have Hazmat Endorsement
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Must have a valid CDL Class A or B.
