Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Texas Materials is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team in the Houston, TX area. The Logistics Manager is key to the Texas Materials Gulf Coast Area management team. This position is responsible for taking ownership of all activities and decisions that influence overall supply chain management. The position's objectives are to ensure strategic supply chain management, building relationships and developing key initiatives which encourage growth.

E nsure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environments.
- Coordinate with VP/GM, sales team, QC, and operations to understand expectations for each job/project.
- Strategically plan initiatives that will maximize utilization for plants and aggregate terminals as well as create a plan for backlog and long-term scheduling
- Build rapport with customers and establish good working relationships.
- Monitor orders and scheduling during the day and adjust as necessary to maintain customer service and optimize fleet management
- P&L responsibilities
- Forecasting for Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning
- Plan effective delivery routes and analyze supply chain
Qualifications
Education/Experience
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in related function
• 5 years of experience in the materials delivery business with a working knowledge of delivery and plant equipment
• 5 plus years building relationships, optimizing processes, and strategic supply chain management in the asphalt or aggregate industry preferred
Work Requirements
Must be 18 years in age or older.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
Have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Be pro-active, self-motivated, and an action-oriented self-starter who drives for results.
Foster a collaborative, professional, courteous attitude and team-based approach.
Highly ethical.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (up to 25%).
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Must have the ability to work without close supervision.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Highly developed oral, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with management.
• Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Ability to be a self-starter and able to operate under general guidelines.
• Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people within the Company and with customers
• Ability to make presentations in front of many people.
• Ability to effectively work with customers, employees, and suppliers.
• Ability to provide and understand detailed information.
• Ability to analyze issues independently.
• Ability to perform under deadline pressure.
• Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
