Position Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner - Americas Materials Shared Services Center, Alpharetta, GA is responsible for managing and supporting a high-engagement culture to help drive business success and build relationships with business partners in a collaborative environment. Must be able to think strategically, execute tactfully, and demonstrate strong judgement and handle complex and sensitive issues. This individual will serve as the HR expert providing leadership, communications, and oversight to ensure that the business is in compliance with federal and state regulations and providing a high level of customer service throughout the organization. This position will report directly to Corporate Vice President of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide HR support to the newly formed CRH Americas Materials, Inc. (AMAT) Shared Services Center (SSC)
  • Collaborate with Corporate Recruitment to manage high-volume hiring needs and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with SSC leadership team and colleagues to coordinate and organize annual Talent Review/Succession Planning process and materials to develop talent pipeline/succession planning.
  • Manage the annual performance evaluation & salary review cycles (goal setting, mid-year coaching and year-end reviews). Provide salary information & guidelines to managers on performance evaluation processes, goal setting, and development plans.
  • Oversee compliance with all legal and government reporting regulations affecting the human resource's function (EEO, Affirmative Action, FMLA, ADA, etc.). Prepare information requested or required for compliance. Work with inside legal counsel and outside governmental agencies.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, enhance employee engagement and increase productivity and retention.
  • Work closely with colleagues in functions such as Reward, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Benefits to support the delivery of key people initiatives and annual processes.
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with L&D teams to deliver programs to upskill employees.
  • Manage employee relations issues (terminations, performance issues, complaints, lawsuits, discrimination, conflict, counseling, etc.).
  • Counsel employees and/or managers as needed regarding personnel issues.
  • Respond to CRH Hotline in a timely manner including investigations and the resolution of any outstanding issue.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with stakeholders ranging from hourly employees to leadership team.
  • Ability to work independently and get work done through others using effective influencing skills, delegation, scheduling, and time management practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or comparable discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. SPHR/PHR/SHRM Certification desired.
  • Ability to support and lead change and drive and build culture within an office environment.
  • 5 or more years working in Talent Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a HR business partner role, supporting a shared services center a plus.
  • Proven track record operating at a senior level, supporting business leaders and their functions in a high performing and changing business environment.
  • Proven success in talent management leadership.
  • Proven project management skills, including facilitation, organizational skills, indirect management, and ability to hold parties accountable for results.
  • A self-aware, collaborative HR professional who can positively engage colleagues and influence key stakeholders
  • A level of resilience and flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business priorities and demands
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written along with strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors a plus
