About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Advisor to join our team for a 9-month maternity cover within our manufacturing company, based near Sheffield, UK. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the HR function by delivering effective HR services across our UK locations. This position involves managing HR processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to various HR projects. If you are proactive, detail-oriented, and have a passion for HR, we would love to hear from you. To provide first line support and advice to managers on all areas of the employee lifecycle and play a key role in delivering a commercially focussed HR service across our UK locations. This role will work in partnership with the HR Manager to put brilliant basics in place and focus on being fit for future.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor and adhere to HR policies, initiatives and projects within timescales ensuring compliance with UK employment law
  • Provide coaching and support to the site management teams in line with employee relations issues ensuring fairness and equality
  • Support managers in the management and improvement of employee performance
  • Assist in the management of short and long term absence, balancing the welfare of employees and the needs of the business to identify solutions
  • Support resourcing ensuring right people, right place, right time with focus on early careers
  • Coach and support management teams with interview, assessment and selection methods in collaboration with the HR Manager
  • Provide and analyse relevant HR KPI data as required by the HR Manager / Head of HR suggesting improvements where required
  • Ensure our HR Systems are accurate and up to date ensuring a single point of truth in relation to our employee data
  • Play a key role on project teams as and when required
  • Drive our I&D agenda and initiatives across the UK
  • Focus on digitally enabled HR ensuring we are fit for future


Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong UK Employee Relations experience including practical application
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in the manufacturing/engineering sector, thorough understanding of the challenges
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop strong relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High integrity and ability to challenge where appropriate
