Summary
The General Manager will lead and grow all aspects of the Aggregates line of business. This includes managing the company in all aspects of safety, production, operations, quality control, and other support functions with primary responsibility for developing and ensuing effective execution of company performance and growth strategy. Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams. The preferred candidate can lead and motivate within a safe team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for own personal safety at all times, as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow the CRH Life Saving Rules.
- Promotes a safe and productive working environment with a sustainable safety culture.
- Implement and lead continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Drive operational and safety performance through continuous improvement initiatives that meet or exceed company goals.
- Work with team to evaluate long term product development opportunities including review and proposal of needed invests to support these initiatives.
- Reviews Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operations to understand progress and to continually align operational teams in terms of their areas of opportunity and improvement.
- Review production related reports to ensure that targets are met.
- Prepare Capex design submittals; strategic planning; justification
- Generate and manage the annual operating and capital budget.
- Responsible for mine development and planning.
- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environmental impact, health and welfare and accounting regulations.
- Ensures the business meets expected financial returns.
- Provide direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Work with GM's across LOB to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
- Build effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities.
- Lead teams in performance management, recruitment and hiring, training and development, and succession planning.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) in Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Equivalent of ten years of progressive related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A thorough understanding of quality control processes.
- Ability to prepare annual budgets; ability to answer questions and present financial data leadership and others.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Demonstrated success in managing a large group of employees.
- High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.
- Management experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Prior P&L experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills while maintaining a team atmosphere.
- Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback.
