Position Overview
This role owns and maintains the financial reporting processes for Europe. This includes the set-up and execution of the financial reporting process including the collection of financial information from the Europe entities, the validation that this information meets the reporting requirements and make this information available to the users within Europe as well as to CRH Group Finance.

In this role, you will make sure that reporting follows the accounting policies of CRH, that the users get the support required and that SOX controls are executed properly on time. You will ensure that the members of the Financial Reporting Processes Team are supported in the day to day maintenance and administrative tasks and that all communications to end users are of a high quality. Business end-users and other members of the finance community require support for Management and Financial Reporting processes as well as Budget and Strategic Plan reporting processes.

The main deliverables of the process are financial reports (physically or electronically) to the various stakeholders including the maintenance and development of these reports as needed on behalf of the various stakeholders. The deliverable to CRH Group Finance is the timely, accurate and complete load of financial data to the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) application in Dublin or equivalent EPM application when that becomes available.

In addition to the above, the Financial Reporting Processes team will also provide training, webinars, regular information on systems and process updates and will support in the on boarding of new joiners to the Europe finance community.

The Manager Financial Reporting Processes is not responsible for the contents review of the financial results, the analysis thereof and the commentaries that need to be provided. This is the responsibility of the Europe Divisional Finance Team.

The Manager Financial Reporting Processes manages a team of two people that execute these tasks and the Manager Reporting Processes works closely together with the Financial Reporting Systems Team, led by the Manager Financial Reporting Systems. Also, the Manager works closely together with the Europe Divisional Finance team, CRH Group Finance team and the CRH Group Finance EPM team to assess and manage functional changes to the group financial reporting requirements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Play Leadership role in the EFR tea
  • Inspire, motivate, and coach team members
  • Manage performance of team members
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day activities
  • Ensure overall delivery of key priorities in alignment with the Manager Financial Reporting Processes
    • Maintain the Management and Financial Reporting processes as well as Budget and Strategic Plan reporting processes in ExQL and the transfer of data to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Execute and monitor the annual reporting calendar as set by the Europe Finance Team
  • Monitor the submission processes and escalate when needed
  • Validate that the submitted data meets the reporting requirements
  • Maintain and validate the mapping between systems and reconciling the financial data
  • Transfer of data to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Oracle EPM and resolving validations issues
  • Reviewing the data and troubleshooting issues when they arise in the process
    • Own the preparation of reports for user of the financial reporting application based on business requirements
    • Liaise with and support the financial reporting processes with accounting issues and technical analysis
    • Functional user support for the reporting systems
    • Management of the data integrations between systems and keep systems aligned
    • Support in data integration activities of the operating companies
    • Resolve data processing and data quality issues; perform root-cause analysis and create continuous improvements
    • Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues arising from the reporting process
    • Assist stakeholders with financial reporting queries
    • Liaise with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) alignment of systems
    • Own the change management process by clarifying business requirements and perform UAT for ExQL input models and Reports
    • Liaise with the Internal Control team and execute SOX controls
    • Participate and lead in projects related to financial reporting processes and technology

    Experience / Education
    You are/have:
    • Accounting degree and/or 5 to 10 years' experience in Financial Reporting Systems
    • Advanced understanding of internal controls in relation to financial data and IT
    • Specific Knowledge of Hyperion financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Management (FDM) and ExQL is an advantage
    • Experience in project management and setup and use of reporting systems
