The Investment Assurance team is a high performing team that forms part of the Group Finance function at CRH and is based in Stonemasons' Way, Dublin.
The team are primarily responsible for the review of major acquisition, divestment and capital expenditure proposals submitted for approval to the Group CEO and the CRH Board, management of the Group's annual impairment testing process and the internal and external reporting deliverables associated with these processes. The team also develops and maintains key valuation tools used throughout the Group including OneCRH Acquisition model, Capex model, Intangible asset valuation model etc. The team is a valued business partner and provides expert support to a range of functions across the Group, including Group Finance, Strategy & Development, Divisions and local operating companies.
This Financial Analyst role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the transactional activity of the Group from both a commercial and reporting perspective.The successful candidate will get exposure to all responsibilities of the team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in the proposal review process which includes reviewing and re-performing supporting models to establish confidence in the business case presented to Group CEO / Board.
- Work extensively with Development and Divisional / Local Finance teams on acquisition, divestment and capex investment decision related matters.
- Liaise with other Group Finance teams to ensure accounting treatment and presentation of acquisition and divestments is correct.
- Prepare data for quarterly briefing notes and Q&A process.
- Help manage and execute the annual impairment testing process for the Group which involves frequent interaction with management, local finance teams and the Group auditors and reporting of findings to the Board.
- Participate in the production of the interim and annual report by preparing notes to the accounts related to areas of responsibility.
- Assist in the production of the annual review of post-acquisition performance which is presented to the Board.
- Help maintain all OneCRH valuation tools including; acquisition model/intangible asset model/mineral reserve valuation templates and standard business divestment templates
- Help facilitate trainings across the Group on specialist areas when needed
Your Education and Experience
- Qualified accountant with up to 2 years PQE
- Knowledge of financial modelling and valuations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
