Position Overview
CRH Group Corporate Events are expanding their team and seeking candidates for the position of Event Manager. If you are proactive, have exceptional attention to detail and are highly organised with proven ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, then this role is for you. If successful, you will be working across a broad spectrum of projects in terms of scale, format & location, with the opportunity for extensive international travel and global relationship building.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The role is highly detail-orientated, involving project management and practical execution of events from inception to reconciliation, working with Events Team colleagues, functional leadership, senior management and third-party vendors to deliver consistently exceptional events.

The role covers the management of all aspects of event planning and delivery including, but not limited to:
  • Venue sourcing & management
  • Event design, theming and production
  • Integration of remote technology for hybrid and/or virtual projects
  • Food & beverage management
  • Transportation & logistics
  • Digital aspects e.g. online registration, CRH Events app
  • Budgeting & cost control
  • Liaison with business colleagues regarding content


Combining office-based planning and on-site management & execution, the successful candidate will:
  • Act as key liaison between the Events Team and executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage and meet internal and external deadlines to ensure adherence to budget and smooth delivery of the project
  • Conduct research (venues, DMC's, production agencies etc), develop local networks of suppliers and negotiate contracts to final approval
  • Manage all third-party suppliers to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach to each event programme
  • Conduct frequent site visits, with extensive international travel required
  • Create, maintain and communicate detailed project management documentation to ensure excellence in execution
  • Develop and manage all aspects of budgeting for events undertaken, from initial cost estimate through to final project reconciliation
  • Establish event design, production & IT requirements and determine the most appropriate means of delivery (i.e. in-house AV supplier, production company etc)
  • Have an awareness of planning for Health & Safety and ensure relevant parties deliver on their responsibilities in this area
  • Manage online registration tools & related CRH Events app
  • Create and manage transportation and rooming manifests
  • Devise and manage food & beverage arrangements

  • Commercially aware and able to work within budget and proactively manage the financial aspects of each event
  • Able to use their initiative, approaching challenges calmly and logically
  • Able to work as part of a team, often cross-disciplinary, with excellent people skills
  • Able to manage their time efficiently, in order to execute multiple events at once or in rapid succession
  • Confident in their role and act as an example to others working on their projects
  • Highly mobile and available for extensive international travel
  • Readily available as necessary on the lead-up to events and prepared to work anti-social hours from time-to-time when projects demand


Experience / Education
  • Extensive experience in delivering international corporate events, particularly in logistics roles (hotel management, F&B, transportation, delegate management)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and related collaboration tools
  • Formal qualification in Event Management, Project Management or a similar field
  • Knowledge of event production - scenic, AV, branding etc
  • Experienced in Cvent, Eventogy or other similar online registration tools
  • Proficient in at least one other language, in addition to English
