Position: Electrician
Reports to: Electrical Supervisor
Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 12:00 am CST
Pay: $38.45 + $3.00; this is a collective bargaining position

What you'll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Has general knowledge and experience in some phases of electrical and electronic work. Exhibits proficiency in performing many of the following duties while continuing to learn the other duties listed:
- Repairing electric motors;
- Installing industrial electric wiring including controls and instrumentation;
- Installing and repairing underground and portable cables; and
- Installing, modifying, and repairing electrical distribution systems including work on wood, steel or synthetic poles.
- Locates and repairs electric and electronic circuits, equipment and controls with proficiency and only minimal supervision.
- Locates, repairs, adjusts and calibrates electric and electronic recording, measuring and indicating instruments with proficiency and only minimal supervision, including proper documentation when necessary.
- Applies N.E.C. requirements to all new installations.
- Interprets and understands instructions, prints, sketches and wiring diagrams.
- Plans and lays out work with the assistance of the supervisor.
- Assists other electricians as needed performing manual work and resolving problems.
- Adjusts brakes, limit switches and V belts. Removes and installs pulleys and/or couplings.
- Replaces lamps as necessary for safety and proper working condition.
- Observes all safety rules and keeps work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- High school graduation or equivalent is required
- Associates degree in electronics or equivalent; or, journeyman's card preferred
- Strong electrical skills, including troubleshooting and programmable logical controllers.
- Experience installing and repairing electric motors and installing industrial electric wiring.
- Prefer experience with interpreting electrical prints, sketches, and wiring diagrams.
- Industrial background preferred.
- Willingness to learn, training will be provided
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
