Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and talented Data Analyst Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, data visualization, and problem-solving. You will work closely with experienced data analysts/engineers to support various projects, from data cleaning and preparation to insightful data analyses/visualizations. This position reports within the Data & Analytics team at Oldcastle Infrastructure and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative work environment, gain mentorship from experienced data professionals, and take advantage of learning new skills and technologies from top-tier resources in the field. This position is expected to start in person around May 2025 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e. through August 2025). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, onsite for most internships.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in gathering business data and visualization requirements.
- Understand the data needs for a specific visualization design requirement.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with team members to identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Data Cleaning and Preparation.
- Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Handle missing data and outliers.
Job Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, technical and non-technical.
- Familiarity/experience with SQL (Structured Query Language) query language is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
