Position Overview
This position provides direct supervision of a concrete crew to ensure that all assigned projects are completed within the scope of the designated specifications for the job and following established principles for the placement of structural concrete. This position is further responsible for ensuring that all work is performed in conformance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Assist foreperson with production goals and expectations.
- Coordinate concrete projects including communicating with plant and contractors with regards to schedule.
- Determine access for job site and direct equipment, so no damage to property occurs.
- Direct daily activity of crew of 2-6 people with details of the project to complete task according to specifications.
- Knowledge and experience of all positions and able to rotate to that position if seen necessary. Train new and existing crew members.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2-3 years of experience with concrete finishing preferred.
- Experience in the building materials/construction industry preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must maintain a valid Class B CDL with a valid DOT Medical Certificate. (Class A CDL License Preferred)
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (less than 10% of the time) or must be willing to travel to other locations frequently within the workday.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals as well as carry out written or verbal instructions.
- Willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, customer needs and other conditions that may affect their daily responsibilities. Ability to perform under deadline pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to train, motive and lead employees.
- Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws.
- Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach; work well in a team.
- Ability to independently manage and run concrete finishing crew including knowledge of the materials, methods, tools, safety hazards and precautions to safely complete projects.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and heavy hauling preferred.
- Ability to read prints preferred.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Able to communicate with others by email, telephone and in person.
- Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, walk, and sit as well as occasionally required to stand, reach use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to climb ladders and to work at heights as well as work in tight quarters.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. A variety of noise levels, adverse weather conditions, and complex job sites are to be expected daily. Proper clothing, PPE (personal protective equipment), and safety precautions should be taken to ensure your safety, and the safety of others in all conditions. While performing non-field duties of this position, the environment is typical of an office setting and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
