PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Aggregates Foreman position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the production facilities including but not limited to the following: communication with the Mine Manager; handling the aspects related to mine personnel and operations; scheduling necessary plant maintenance . This position will report directly to the Mine Manager .
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers;
- Follow all company policies and all OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
- Responsible for Primary Plant up to and including all Pit Operations Material Transfer Load and Haul, Dust Control, Mine Road/Site Maintenance, and Mine Development. Oversees drill & blasting.
- Ensure daily production goals are met, communicated, and maintained.
- Ensure daily maintenance is completed and schedule appointments for any major repairs with mine manager;
- Report any problems to the Mine Manager/Operations Manager, Safety Manager, and Human Resources manager;
- Manages personnel as well as schedule and monitor time worked;
- Train employees on safe and proper operations, servicing, and minor repair of equipment;
- Perform general laboring/operator duties when necessary;
- Regular attendance as described by mine manager required.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, BS in Mining Engineering or related field a plus;
- Two years of experience and/or training required;
- Leadership/Management experience strongly preferred;
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management;
- Experience within the construction industry strongly preferred;
- Excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation;
- Organizing, planning, and time management skills;
- Maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements;
- Have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards;
- Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold;
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required;
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA;
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required;
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary;
