Wage: As per CBA

Working beside some of the top technicians in their field, the 310T Mechanic Apprentice is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to the Dufferin Concrete/Ontario Redimix fleet of heavy-duty trucks. the This includes use of leading diagnostic technology to identify breakdowns, ordering required parts, removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components, as well as performing maintenance schedules. Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps and motors, and air brake systems are required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Registered 310T Apprentice is required
  • Basic understanding of Operations
  • Basic knowledge of truck and heavy equipment operation
  • Basic understanding of computer applications
  • Basic knowledge of the industry is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of related maintenance and repair practices
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, motors, and air brake systems
  • Reading electrical and hydraulic schematic is an asset
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Adhere to all Operations policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license


Requirements
  • Registered 310T Mechanic Apprentice
  • 3rd or 4th year Apprentice-Truck and Coach Technician
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently and team oriented
  • Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean safe work environment in and out of shop.
  • Maintain a consistent, high level of productivity
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be reliable well under pressure.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
  • Basic knowledge of concrete and the construction industry is an asset
  • Always maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Takes immediate and independent action to resolve issues or problems when they arise.
  • Open to working at other locations, as needed
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Flexibility to perform duties as assigned
