ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

In the Sales Team for our European Distributor Markets (EDM), we are responsible for our Prestige (Makeup, Fragrances and Skincare) and Consumer Beauty (Color Cosmetics, Mass Scenting and Bodycare) businesses in > 40 countries in EMEA, through 32 independent distributors. We are a dynamic and international team of highly motivated sales people and, together with our colleagues from the broader EDM organization, we are shaping the future of our brands in markets with > 300 M consumers. We do this in close collaboration with our distributor and retail partners, and we cover a wide range of different business models. THE ROLE

This is unique role with a genuine opportunity to make an impact. Coty is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced leader to join Cotys Sales team for the Europe Distributor Markets. As a Sales Director, you will lead a team of Cluster Leaders and Sales Managers, and will be fully responsible for top and bottom line performance of the whole distributor organization, composed of 32 distributors across 40 countries. The role will report into the Senior Sales Director and offers an unparalleled opportunity to leverage your commercial expertise, strategic thinking and organizational focus to enable the right decisions for our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Joint Business Plan
    • Own the development, implementation and execution of the annual sales plan to deliver on short and long term goals
    • Cultivate relationships with decision makers and leadership at key accounts and international partners
    • Through the S&OP cycle, develop and manage internal reporting for distributor business to maximize performance and provide data and insights to internal divisions and stakeholders
    • Proactively manage risk and opportunities and timely communicate changes internally,


  • Organizational development
    • Manage recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of the sales organization
    • Identify and assess future and current training needs for the internal organization
    • Drive distributor capability, identifying areas of improvements and create action plans to close the gaps
    • Responsible and accountable for the distributor Go to Market strategy, ensuring we sell our brands via the most capable Distributors.


  • Selling our brands
    • Work closely with marketing team to ensure commercial alignment on trade plans and innovation launches
    • Ensure that merchandising, permanent brand installations and visual implementation are in line with corporate and brand guidelines
    • Drive market share growth and distribution penetration in line with the company priorities

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Min qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Business, Marketing)
  • 10+ years of commercial experience. Experience in beauty categories and/or distributor is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strong complexity and familiar to working with key retailers and/or distributors
  • Experience in working across multiple countries is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence with a variety of stakeholders - both internally and externally
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills required to coordinate/manage the field force
  • Fluent in English. Other languages considered as plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to internal stakeholders and external parties at all levels
  • Financial acumen and experience managing P&L

  • Travel: Able to travel ~30% of the time
