Senior Data Engineer, Finance

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer offshore in India. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Analytics, the individual will be pivotal in supporting the Finance & Services functions. The ideal candidate possesses strong domain knowledge in Finance, complemented by empathy, curiosity, and a continuous drive to learn and improve. The candidate must have hands-on experience with Snowflake, Tableau, and SQL transformation tools like dbt and Matillion, demonstrating a proven track record of implementing best practices and effective processes, with direct experience in creating visualizations, performance tuning, and managing role-based access.

In this role, the individual will:

1. a) Design and construct high-performance data visualizations primarily for the Finance department, as well as Services, and HR when necessary. As a data evangelist for the Finance domain, they will demonstrate the transformational power of data to the Finance and Revenue teams, constructing compelling data narratives and driving a significant paradigm shift in how corporate decisions are made with data insights.
2. b) Operate independently while collaboratively partnering with a global team of Product Managers, IT/ETL engineers (both onsite and offshore). Additionally, they will have to synthesize business meetings into clear requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, prioritize requirements, and establish roadmaps in conjunction with business stakeholders. They will also serve as a mentor to the team in developing first-rate analytics capability.

• Partner with Business stakeholders in Finance and Services teams
• Analyze the requirements, data, highlight and fix data quality issues.
• Hands-on analysis of business data using SQL or other tools like dbt, Snowflake, MuleSoft, etc. To build ETL or ELT data pipelines
• Understand the data from the source systems and be able to transform it into data-marts in the data warehouse using complex SQL transformations via a suite of tools available.
• Clearly communicate progress, dependencies, risks, issues, key metrics to business and IT leadership.
• Documentation of the requirements and data dictionary and lineage.

• Excellent Communication Skills
• Strong understanding of Finance domain.
• 4-6 years of experience in data analysis using complex SQL, visualization tools like tableau
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts
• 2-3 years of Hands-on experience in using Snowflake
• Strong troubleshooting skills - identifying data issues and anomalies during the analysis
• Experience with Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ), & quote to cash processes in a SaaS / recurring revenue company
• Knowledge of Enterprise Business Applications - Oracle Cloud ERP, Tableau, ADP Workforce, Salesforce
• Knowledge of Financial Business Processes - O2C, P2P, Accounting, and FP&A.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science

• Hands-on dbt experience
• Apache Airflow
• Data Science and Advanced analytics experience using Python, R, etc.
