Short Description
Accurately and timely prepares all medications, including IV medications,
under the direct supervision of the pharmacist as per policy and regulation.
Compounds IV medications in a cleanroom environment according to USP 797 standards
Restocks Automated dispensing devices and Carousels
Fills Floor stock requisitions
Completes expired medication inspections
Answers phones to assist in dispensing questions
Ensures all medications are properly delivered.
Breaks down wholesaler order, completes receipt documentation and stocks in designated location.
Maintain organization of storage areas/storeroom and ensures ordering replacement stock as required based on patient usage and par levels.
Functionally uses the hospital information systems
Experience Required
Current NJ registration (or eligible on hire)
Must register with the NJ Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment.
Must complete the registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy and become an active registered Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire.
Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) - preferred
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
License/Certification Requirements
Must registered with the NJ Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment.
Must complete the registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy and become an active licensed Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire.
