Short Description
- Observes and reports to the RN for all significant changes in patient’s condition
- Prepares and sets up for suturing
- Applies appropriate monitoring devices such as cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter, non-invasive blood pressure, and Dinamap
- Takes and records vital signs, height and weights, measures and records fluid intake and output, collects specimens
- Performs electrocardiograms
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g. preparing patient for and assisting with meals, bathing)
- One-on-one observation with required documentation. Close observation monitoring
- Demonstrates proficient computer skills
- Ability to follow through with physician orders
- Assist with transport of patients within the hospital
- Maintains safe and orderly environment by stocking patient care areas
- Responds to patient/family requests in timely manner
- Assists with orthopedic procedures by applying posterior splints
- Other duties as assigned
Follow established policies and procedures.
Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
Experience Required
Previous Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant or EMT experience preferred
Candidates who are attending College for medical related careers are highly considered.
Education Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
License/Certification Requirements
American Heart Association, (AHA) CPR Certification required
