Short Description

The Director of Business Operations is a senior level position responsible for optimizing and growing the Hospital Based Services, and the Professional Service Agreements with community hospitals for the following Hospital Medicine, Critical Care and Emergency Services. The Director of Business Operations works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, administrators, senior leadership, community-based organizations, and other healthcare organizations.

The Director of Business Operations is responsible for:

 

  • Implementing the Institute’s strategic growth plan;
  • Institute quality program/initiatives/patient experience
  • Tracking patient transfers
  • External Cooper contracts for administrative staffing
  • Non-clinical staff recruitment, retention
  • Employee engagement
  • Monitoring the overall performance of the Institute and escalates issues to Administrative Director as needed;
  • Monitoring PSAs; 
  • Assist Administrative Director with the strategic recruitment of providers (e.g. working to backfill providers, replacement and/or temporary coverage)
  • Assist Administrative Director with the on-boarding and off-boarding providers
  • Practive Workflow including schedule optimization, maximizing utilization of office space and provider schedules, etc.
  • Creating and maintaining provider template standards and access center protocols for the Institutes
  • Liasing with Amb Ops on office workflows involving providers and patient facing issues

 


Experience Required

Highly skilled leader with 5+ years experience in healthcare or a world-class consulting organization.

 

Success in leadership of complex teams, strategic alliances, and change management projects; experience with organizational development and business unit innovation; proven ability to attract and retain top talent; expertise in producing and executing high quality business plans.

 

Thorough and broad understanding of current issues and future challenges facing healthcare delivery systems preferred.

 

Demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to business operations, organization development, customer satisfaction, and change management.


Education Requirements

BA/BS required. Master’s degree desired in business, healthcare administration, or operations management. Experience: 5+ years' experience leading, optimizing, and growing complex healthcare teams, or related work.

 


Special Requirements

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required; strong oral/written communication skills, including diplomacy and the ability to work with all disciplines, levels, and backgrounds, is also a must. Exceptional strength in strategic thinking, analysis and problem solving, organizational leadership, collaboration, and a results-oriented vision and focus. Strong analytical skills, and experience with performance improvement methodologies and data-driven decision-making.

 

Ability to direct and manage multiple priorities and staff members, utilize effective time management skills, and exercise sound administrative judgment.
