Short Description
Reporting up through the nursing AVP for Professional Practice, Quality and Innovation, the clinical educator is a member of a dynamic team of masters prepared nurses with a focus on innovative and evidence-based practices that support clinical team members transition to practice as well as ongoing professional development in their individualized units or specialty.
Overview
Cooper is a tertiary/quaternary referral center, level one trauma center, advanced comprehensive stroke center with 4 adult critical care units. The Viner ICU which houses a 30-bed critically ill adult patients ranging from post open heart to septic shock. The unit cares for ECMO, CVVH, advanced pulmonary airways and ventilators, and the latest in patient monitoring and treatment. The 16-bed Neurovascular Critical Care Unit has both medical and interventional stroke patients requiring the latest treatments neuroscience has to offer. The 12-bed Coronary Care Unit staff have specialized training in medical cardiac patients, post interventional cardiac patients, advanced heart failure that the care needs exceed the inpatient advanced heart failure unit. The 28 bed Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Unit staff work hand in hand with our Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Surgeons delivering care to South Jersey and the regions sickest traumatic and surgically ill patients. All our Critical Care Units routinely receive transfers in from our flight team, hospital transfers or directly from our ED or Trauma Bay. The Clinical Education team will be embedded in the unit’s clinical staff and involved in clinical partnerships with new technology, new devices, critical care courses and focused on the staff that require a high degree of competence in assessment, critical thinking and technical skills.
Experience Required
- At least 3 years nursing clinical practice in direct patient care required.
Education Requirements
- Masters Required; Masters in Nursing preferred
License/Certification Requirements
- NJ RN license required
- AHA BLS required
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
Special Requirements
- 4/10's - 7P-5A with flex weekend coverage
- Specialty certification preferred
