HCA Admitting Officer responsibilities include various activities related to patient intake and financially securing encounters through comprehensive insurance verification in a 24/7 operational department.

 

Facilitates accurate and thorough patient registration and confirm all compliance forms are obtained timely. 

Execute administrative duties as requested by hospital units to include and not limited to admitting and discharging patients.

 

Communicates as appropriate with the NJ Medical Examiners, the Sharing Network, and Funeral Directors.

Initiates electronic death record via NJ EDRS.

Submits notice of admissions to all payors as appropriate via electronic portal or fax transmittal. 

 

 

Must ensure quality patient registration, point of service collections, positive telephone etiquette and patient satisfaction in support of Cooper University Hospital Mission and Core Values. Must be able to work independently and as a team with an enthusiastic personality.

 

Admitting Officer needs to have strong organizational skills along with the ability to improvise and adapt when faced with unforeseen circumstances that arise throughout each day within a professional medical environment


Experience Required

0-2 years exepereince.

 

Preferred Experience includes:

  • Minimum one year of registration or billing experience working in a medical facility.
  • Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals
  • Epic experience preferred

Education Requirements

High School Diploma required.
