Summary:
To assist pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist. Must be competent in following pharmacy production areas: Advanced Omnicell processing, advanced sterile compounding, and compliance audits while working in the specialized area of the operating room pharmacy satellite. Must also be competent in advanced non-sterile preparation, and/or must be trained and able to work in central pharmacy as requested.

Primary working hours will be in the evening.
Qualifications:
- A basic knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
- A general knowledge of office procedures such as filling and record keeping is essential.
- Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
- Must have worked a minimum of 1 year in CCMC pharmacy and gained knowledge in advanced areas or must have pharmacy experience with one year of hands on IV preparation experience.
- High School or Equivalent Required
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
- ACPE IV certification required.
