Summary:
The Nurse Resident will actively participate in a 12-month clinical education opportunity designed to develop a professional nurse with a broad foundation in Pediatric Nursing, and strengthen critical thinking and clinical judgment abilities. The Nurse Resident will deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families with a team-orientation and with an emphasis on good customer relations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Current license or eligible for licensure to practice Nursing in Texas
- AHA BLS Card

July 2025 Cohort:
- Applicants must graduate with a BSN between December 2024 - May 2025
- Applicants may only apply to one of the two tracks.
- Applications close on January 22nd at 5:00 PM Central Time. No documents are accepted after the deadline.
- Please be advised that no documents are accepted until January 2nd.
Applicant eligibility
- Graduated from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) or an entry-level master's of nursing program (MSN).
- Must be applying to serve in his or her first professional nursing role.
Disqualifications:
- Associate degree only
- Previous work experience as a licensed professional nurse
- Candidates graduating with an Associate Degree-to-BSN who have previous work experience as a licensed professional nurse
- Candidates with an LPN-to-BSN with previous work experience as a licensed professional nurse
- Does not graduate within the time frame (no exceptions are granted)
- Must be applying to serve in his or her first professional role.
- Must pass the NCLEX prior to the start of the residency.
- Applicants who have previously applied to the nurse residency program are ineligible to reapply.
- Applicants may only apply to one of the two tracks - Critical Intermediate Care and Medical/Surgical.
