Summary:

The Clinical Dietetic Tech serves as a member of the clinical nutrition team and works as part of the interdisciplinary team within Cook Children's Medical Center (CCMC). The Clinical Dietetic Tech screens patients for nutritional risk, completes nutrient intake analyses, and assists with menus for special diets. The Clinical Dietetic Tech provides basic nutrition education and formula instructions to parents or other family members based on goals, preferences, learning barriers, and readiness while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights.

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of a certified Dietetic Technician program, or at least enrolled in certified Dietetic Technician program, OR Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in nutrition.
  • Experience working with computers, data entry, and Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Calendar.
  • Demonstrated competency in mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in health care setting for at least six months preferred. Pediatric training or experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Registration with American Dietetic Association for Dietetic Technician preferred within 12 months of eligibility.
