Summary:
A Registered Nurse skilled to deliver individualized nursing care to patients/families according to their identified needs. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the Specialty Clinic.
Education:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

This role will serve primarily as a resource for the clinic and will be expected to be competent in the following:
- Care for central lines which includes accessing mediports, changing dressings on central lines, changing caps, and drawing labs.
- Be a member of our procedure team and assist in safely caring for patients during, pre and post receiving moderate sedation for their lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates and line removals.
- Be able to fill in and support Medical Assistants on days that call for it.
- Be able to support certain aspects of team nursing and seeing patients within the Stem Cell Transplant and Neuro Oncology Teams.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Will obtain advanced life support certification within two years from their date of hire/transfer date.
- • ther certification may be required by department.
- Valid Driver's License required
