THE POSITION

Coordinate all scrap reduction - related activities in PLT and CVT plants for Mount Vernon. Act as liaison for corresponding central function and ensure alignment with worldwide strategy for scrap attack. Initiate and drive mid-term and long-term actions to reduce scrap, incl. but not limited to investment requirements. Strong focus in development of production-process stability in plant.

•Define and drive a challenging-but-manageable FC of Scrap performance for PLT and CVT.
• Define strategies and roadmap to ensure achievement of FC for Scrap levels for PLT and CVT.
• Align roadmap with all industrial departments and related financials with Controlling department on a regular basis.
• For acute (=local peaks) scrap issues, define the "pragmatic focus of the day" together with the rest of industrial departments and an action plan for process techs to execute in order to mitigate scrap growth.

•Define "priority" chronic items that need a mid-term and long term action to reduce scrap. Strongly consider available resources in order to guarantee effectivity. Differentiate this from scrap items that need to be handled on a day-to-day basis.
•Set up and monitor SPAs with structured problem approach per industrial department; with agreed timeline. Escalate in case of resource-allocation requirements.
• Update priorities of top scraps for PLT and CVT within every defined intervals, eg: 6 months.

• Ensure regular follow up with all relevant management levels and measure the effectivity of scrap attack related actions.
• Prepare scrap attack related data according to POR requirements.
• Standardize reports per BT level together with plants data-analyst, for effective management and transparency of scrap information.

• Ensure compliance with all EHS policies & procedures
• Ensure good housekeeping practices
• Support 5S programs.

• Support the definition and implementation of how to manage ongoing (running production) or upcoming "critical" production to proactively control scrap.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

Associates degree in related field or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years manufacturing experience and 1 year Project/Process expereince in relevant production area.

Functional Leadership experience

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support

Preferred Qualifications:

Group leadersip experience preferred.

Intercultural / InternationalExperience: Good english skills.Communication skills with people of other cultures(Worldwide network)
