Job Description
Core Responsibilities:

  • Develops material and supplier strategy
  • Conducts market analysis
  • Drives the supplier strategy definition process with cross-functional partners
  • Ensures business requirements are reflected in the strategy
  • Documents and implements the strategy
  • Responsible for Supplier negotiations.
  • Bundles the demand for Aftermarket
  • Ensures fulfillment of requirements with legally binding contracts
  • Responsible for driving the sourcing process in the cross functional team with supplier selection, negotiation of prices and closure of contracts
  • Drives annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive
  • Drives improvement programs with suppliers
  • Travel 25%, including Asia and Europe
  • Supports localization and cost reduction programs
  • Responsible for correct data in the respective IT systems
  • Other Purchasing responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or other related field and 2+ years relevant professional experience OR 4+ years of relevantprofessional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize tasks
  • Willingness to travel 25%, including Asia and Europe
