We’re looking for an impact-minded Product Manager to help build and grow CR product experiences that leverage LLMs, starting with AskCR. In this position, you’ll be reporting to the Innovation Lab’s Director of Product R&D.

 

This is a hybrid position. Under our CRFlex program, this position is eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

How You'll Make an Impact:

You will help us realize AskCR’s potential by steering a product that equips consumers with quality information about products and helps them take action in the marketplace. Doing this will require understanding the RAG architecture that powers AskCR, evaluation processes and procedures that can help ensure quality outputs, and the importance of trust & safety features like guardrails. 

 

You will dive into the data generated through use of AskCR and examine conversions users are having with the system; you will surface insights on users’ intentions, as well as areas for improvement and new features that can be prioritized to improve the user experience. You will become an expert of CR’s internal content, testing data and subject matter expertise so you can design requirements for our evolving knowledge base and data pipelines. You’ll even get your hands dirty with rapid experimentation and prompt engineering to fashion system inputs and outputs that gradually improve AskCR’s efficiency and answer quality.

 

As a Product Manager, you will play a leadership role on our scrappy, cross-functional product team. You’ll help set our direction, oversee daily operations, and execute against our vision of delivering trusted information and helping consumers navigate a complex marketplace. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Consumer Reports to ensure that our development roadmap can realize our performance goals, and you’ll build against CR’s organizational mission and strategy.

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit that includes 5+ years experience blazing new trails in software product development, ideally within top technology and data companies.
  • You know how to ship. You can move from concept to delivery, and feel confident managing complex projects and working cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
  • You have product sense. You are familiar with Product Management, Software Engineering, Strategy, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Design, Content, or Finance, and bring expertise in at least two.
