Expected salary range of $86,400 to $96,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective daily operation within the site security department, in support of the site's goals and objectives. The Security Lead is expected to ensure that safe, continuous and economical processes and procedures are carried out at all times. Within their duties is the responsibility to adhere to the Company's business and ethical standards and enforce compliance with all applicable government and industry regulations and practices. The Security Leads are expected to provide daily direction, observations, and coaching of Security Officers to ensure the security force is continuously able to execute the physical security plan for both normal and contingency operations. Additionally, Security Leads have direct involvement in the promotions of Security Officers to Security Leads, including recommending and interviewing candidates. Security Leads are also assigned mentees whom they coach, mentor, develop, and, when necessary, discipline.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Direct and coordinate patrol and armed responder's assignment and response including monitoring perimeter intrusion detection system and closed-circuit television systems. Establish a direct reporting relationship between Security Leads and Security Officers. Maintain goals within current HR system that expressly relate to the supervision of assigned Security Officers. Document assigned Security Officer performance via feedback in current HR system. Participate in, administer, and sign discipline for assigned Security Officers. Recognize and reward employees and track the recognition process. Ensure the adequate performance of Security Officers. Responsible for requalification of assigned Security Officers, as needed.
  • Maintain communications with security force, act as temporary Security Supervisor, conduct call outs for replacement Security Officers,
  • Perform duties of or assist Response Team Leader as applicable. Attend leadership alignment meetings or participate on teams that develop plans/workflow/scheduling/processes.
  • Initiate response to alarms, contingency events, or any other issue requiring security investigation
  • Input data to the security alarm reporting computer. Participate in the hiring/promotion process of new Security Leads (interviews & hiring recommendations).


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree with at least three (3) years security experience
  • OR Law enforcement or military background with at least three (3) years security experience
  • OR Associate Degree and at least 4 years security experience
  • OR High school diploma and at least 5 years of plant floor or security experience
  • Pass the following, post-offer in accordance with code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment: psychological assessment, physical exam, including vision and hearing, in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification plan.
  • Physical fitness (agilities) test in accordance with site training and qualification plan - Firearms qualification with handgun, shotgun and rifle per client site training and qualification plan.
  • Available to respond as needed in emergency situations
  • Ability to plan and organize work through scheduling and making appropriate assignments to best utilize available talent
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to include attention to safety (personal and environmental schedules, equipment and its efficient use, and the use of employees to get the job done

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Law enforcement or military background
  • Prior Supervisory experience
