High West Distillery is seeking a Lead Host to provide a 5-star guest experience that is consistent with our high standards and values for customer service. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, hardworking, reliable, and able to take charge in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a welcoming disposition. We are looking for someone with a "can do" attitude, welcoming personality, and an understating of Food & Beverage operations to be able to ensure smooth service flow. High West is a rapidly growing company with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional and accurate information to guests and coworkers about our daily programming. Communicate notable reservation information (dietary preferences / trade visits etc.) with department leads.
- Manage Tock reservation software. Confirm approved reservations, direct message with guests & adjust seating flow as seasonal business levels change.

- Communicate with all departments for proper flow and pacing.
- Be the anchor for the host team, holding responsibility for the control and flow of the building.
- Communicate with bar and kitchen staff on 86'd menu items before printing new menus.
- Organize printing of food & beverage menus. Ensure they are current & presentable.
- Assist floor manager with adjustments to floor table layout as dictated by daily needs.
- Positively represent High West and its values by setting a warm, welcoming tone as you greet and seat guests, as well as a sincere good-bye as guests leave.
- Lead the training of the host team, homing in on the expectations of giving a warm welcome and sincere goodbye, as the host stand is the first and last impression of High West hospitality experience.
- Maintain a neat and clean greeting area for guests.
- Familiarize yourself with all three locations so you can give guests accurate information pertaining to them.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in restaurant environment, preferably guest facing.
- Must present a polished and professional image.
- Must be an organized multi-tasker and be able to remain calm under pressure in a busy work environment and be a flexible, proactive team-player.
- Must possess solid Customer Service skills and maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers alike.
Preferred Qualifications
- General knowledge and enthusiasm for craft distilling and spirits
- Experience with reservation software.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Must be able to move up to 55 lbs
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
