Summary
To execute in timely and accurate manner all the fixed assets accounting activities corresponding to the daily basis and month end closing tasks in compliance of the corporate policies and controls with the purpose of guarantee the accuracy and integrity of the fixed assets general ledger.

Responsibilities
1. Process FA creation, disposal, transfers and capitalizations by loading data into SAP as per system technical procedures in order to maintain accurate fixed assets balance sheet figures and correct depreciation values
Level Expectations:
Prepare the capitalization matrix:
Determinate asset and sub-asset based on engineering information and classify CIP additions
Validate useful life vs policy based on asset and sub-asset
Validate "In Service Deck" from Capex, in order to determinate when to start capitalization
Calculate NIS and IS accruals for CIP, PPE, Depreciation accordingly, as per % of complete for NIS or variance vs commitment for IS
Prepare system databases, in order to be ready for future capitalizations (8.5 and Mexicali) by working with project controls and making the necessary adjustments.
2. Prepare GL accounts reconciliations and Balance Sheet Review by extracting information from SAP subledger and match it vs balance sheet and identify any pending action to follow up in order to maintain clean and accurate balances
Level Expectations:
Prepare End to End reconciliations and roll forwards including manual accruals in SAP and/or Hyperion
Design and propose improvements in the balance sheet elaboration process that drives efficiencies to the organization
3. Assure the internal control matrix compliance elaborating compliance reports, analyze business implications in order to minimize any risk and keep trust in our processes
Level Expectations:
Perform a quarterly self-audit of the internal control matrix for the area and the reports prepared for internal control compliance
4. Attention to specific user requirements by understanding what stakeholder's need and doing the necessary activity in order to support the organization in decision making
Level Expectations:
Review in service dates projects with Capex and Projects teams, in order to do proper capitalizations and/or determinate need for accruals (CIP; PP&E, Depreciation)
Design and implement improvements in capitalization processes, redesign capitalizations templates, provide training to users, improve tagging processes, define roles and responsibilities, improve communication with the projects and capex team.
5. Perform Fixed Assets physical inventory according to corporate policy in order to guarantee that fixed assets accounting information matches with physical verification, maintaining accurate financial statements
Level Expectations:
Design and implement improvements in databases that allow us to have a better control between the accounting databases and the real physical assets
* Perform a quality review on consultant physical inventory
