Job Description

Position Summary

Provide and ensure Quality Services operational support during production process. Validate compliance to product specifications and adherence to GMP's through routine and advanced chemical analyses and sampling on wines, juices, concentrates, spirits, and other Company products. Confirm compliance of the facility through process and site audits. Communicate with and provide feedback to production team members to facilitate process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Job will be primarily outside performing analyses and sampling in the tank farm and production areas
  • Assists in the development, implementation and updating of lab standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining lab inventories
  • Be able to identify if instruments and equipment are performing as intended
  • Keeps clear, concise, and accessible records of all lab data. Inputs analysis data into Corporate System Database.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute required reports and records
  • Performs lab analyses with accuracy, precision, timeliness and in accordance with SOPs
  • Perform accurate sampling on product tanks, production lines, water systems and air in production environments.
  • Maintain lab and equipment cleanliness in a safe, sanitary working environment.
  • Adhere to and promote safety in accordance with policies and procedures. Report issues to Supervisor in a timely manner
  • Display teamwork among other laboratory staff and all winery personnel.
  • Cross-train on other lab duties
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in science-related field preferred
  • Zero to two years lab experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions/directions
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be able to recognize potential problems that require solutions to be found at a higher level
  • Basic writing and mathematical skills
  • Basic skill level in using computer applications (Excel, Work, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule with overtime as requested, including weekends and off shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of microbiology and chemistry wine analysis
  • Knowledge of analytical procedures and equipment
  • Familiarity with sampling methodology/protocols
  • Knowledge of various wine types
  • Previous winery experience

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Perform tasks of a repetitious nature, ability to change job priorities and the need for speed, accuracy, and precision to ensure highest quality standards.
  • Works outdoors/indoors.
  • Works in high places.
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs.
  • Work on wet surfaces.
  • Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals.
  • Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic.
  • Must be able to move up to 55lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods.

The salary range for this role is:
$21.52 - $32.28

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor.
