This is a hybrid position primarily based in Bristol or London. In this role, you will directly project manage selected office fit out projects and initiatives across the global portfolio as directed by the Workplace Design and Project Management - SME. You will also work closely with Regional Heads of Facilities and their teams to support them in managing projects and understanding and adopting global design principles and project management policies and practices.

This role will focus on supporting the Workplace Design and Project Management - SME to create a suite of guidance notes (Project Management Handbook) and assist Facilities staff in all sorts of locations to apply the global workplace design standards and to help them understand the various stages of a project from conception to business case approval, design development, tendering, construction, stakeholder management, handover.

Lastly, you will support the Workplace Design and Project Management - SME for workplace design development and the creation of global workplace design standards to provide accommodating and collaborative workplaces for staff that are fit for purpose, cost effective and compliant with local legislation and building codes.

A role you will love

In this key role for our business, you will primarily be responsible for the following:

  • Directly manage selected major and significant office fit out projects as directed by the Workplace Design and Project Management - SME
  • Guide other Facilities staff around the globe to deliver projects when it is more efficient to resource them in location.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining global workplace design standards.
  • Cultivate workplaces to enhance amenity and to provide a balance of work settings, meeting rooms and collaborative spaces that are functional, flexible and can adapt to the changing needs of the business.
  • Ensure ESG (environmental sustainability goals) goals that relate to Facilities operations are embedded into Global workplace design standards.
  • Contribute to the creation a suite of guidance notes to assist Facilities staff in location to apply the global workplace design standards and to help them understand the various stages of a project from conception to business case approval, design development, tendering, construction, stakeholder management, and handover.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a global standard business case format for projects to ensure global consistency and that all key aspects of a project are considered.
  • Ensure the proper upkeep of the central global project register and central repository for all project data categorised into the relevant geographical regions.
  • Contribute to maintaining cost metrics for projects works to assist in building budgets and business case submissions.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining space metrics as it relates to people/seat capacities and densities to right size the footprint of the real estate portfolio & assist in business case analysis.
  • Build trusted relationships with all key stakeholders, anticipate & interpret business needs

What will you bring to the role?

To excel in this role, it is expected that you will possess much of the following experience:

  • University degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of facility experience
  • Excellent understanding of design standards and ability to author same and project guidance notes to support remote staff to implement projects to a global standard
  • Expert understanding of the legal and financial aspects of major projects
  • Expert in leading and managing a large real estate workplace projects on a global scale to the full extent of activities from conception to completion
  • Experienced Financial knowledge in managing, forecasting and controlling budgets
  • Exposure to Facility Projects with a value of up to $20 million GBP
