Settlements is a department within the CSDP that provide effective custody and settlement services to clients by means of managing and monitoring daily functions performed by Strate Equity Settlement Officers

The Senior Settlements & Dealing Officer is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of high-quality customer service and timely settlement and processing of transactions and payments for CSDP clients, ensuring that the day-to-day resolution of queries are responded to accurately and within agreed timeframes. The Senior Settlements & Dealing Officer will work closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure all client activities are actioned in order to meet strict deadlines and service delivery levels.

The Senior Settlements & Dealing Officer needs to ensure adherence to Regulatory requirements as well as Service level agreements with clients.

Major responsibilities

  • Ensure timeous settlement of transactions in accordance with set procedures
  • Ensure timeous settlement of client requests, settlements and queries
  • Identifying improved ways to work to minimize risk
  • Implementing controls and procedures
  • Manage and support employees
  • Identifying employee training needs
  • Management of filing on a daily basis

Qualifications:

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Diploma / Degree in Finance and Investment or equivalent / Currently studying towards the qualification (Would be an advantage)
  • Strate exams (If not, should be willing to obtain this qualification)
  • Experience in Settlements (+-5 years' experience)
  • Team Leader experience (Advantages)
  • Knowledge of Strate
  • Corporate Action knowledge (Advantageous)
  • Financial Market knowledge (Advantageous)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CSDP Department environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Employment Equity guidelines
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to adhere to strict documented controls and procedures
  • Ability to liaise with clients/brokers
  • Must be able to communicate with all staff in all business areas and at all levels
