As a Regional Accounting Manager, you'll play a crucial role in driving the financial success of the organization, overseeing the entire financial control function with a sharp focus on the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and statutory reporting. You'll ensure strict adherence to the company's accounting policies, manage risk in financial reporting, and recommend impactful improvements to streamline and elevate the financial reporting processes.

In this dynamic role, you'll provide critical assurance on the integrity of the financial data reported monthly at the legal entity level, while also ensuring that all local statutory and regulatory reporting obligations are seamlessly met. You'll become the go-to expert, offering technical guidance on complex accounting transactions and leading the charge in the implementation of new accounting standards.
Additionally, you'll manage a talented team of accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Reporting to the Financial Controller UCIA, you'll be responsible for the financial stewardship of key legal entities in your region, managing everything from statutory accounts preparation to liaising with auditors, coordinating board reporting, and overseeing regulatory reporting.

Key accountabilities:
• Ensures integrity of assigned legal entities' numbers reported to Group on a monthly basis through an appropriate Quality Assurance process including collaboration with the Transactional Accounting and FP&A functions, as well as Half-Year and Year-End disclosure reporting packs
• Prepares clear and robust analysis of the correct accounting treatment for any judgmental accounting positions or complex ad-hoc transactions; documents established positions in accounting papers and provides accounting guidance to regional teams and stakeholders
• Ensures all statutory accounts and regulatory reports for assigned regional subsidiaries are accurate and filed in a timely manner
• Manages external audits and the relationship with external auditor efficiently
• Contributes to both regional and group-wide ad hoc projects including continuous improvements, group initiatives and participation in transformation activity where required
• Contributes to leading the regional Financial Control team, managing and developing more junior team members
• Where applicable, provides input to local Board reporting and ensures legal entity capital and liquidity requirements are met

Essential:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
• Accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or local equivalent)
