A role you will love

As one of our Product Owners, you will be the voice of our customer within our squads and will be responsible for capturing and prioritising the backlog in order to ensure that the correct product features and functionality are delivered and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Maximizing the business value of the product and building strong relationships with stakeholders, both technical and business, to ensure that the product roadmap supports the business and technical strategy will be a critical part of this role. You will need to develop a deep understanding of the product and associated applications, the business areas which leverage the product and the wider market forces driving the business.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge and complex ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.
  • Clearly translate complex business and technical problems to stakeholders.
  • Support the Squad in defining sprint goals, working collaboratively as a part of the Squad to execute and review the Sprint, continually improving ways of working to maximise value
  • Be the voice of the customer - understand and align the product to the operations' business strategy managing a Product Backlog and Roadmap from initial request through to release that is continually evolving to reflect business value.
  • Use agile practices to stay responsive to business needs and to deliver value incrementally - find innovative ways to solve problems and to shape the delivery.

What will you bring to the role?

As you've probably gathered by now, we are looking for an innovative and detail-oriented person with a real passion for Product Ownership. We are looking for a natural mentor and leader, who has the ability to build and manage excellent relationships with all of our stakeholders and technology teams to deliver exceptional products.

With this role being global and a key part of our team, we are looking for someone with product ownership experience in complex environments such as, banking, consulting, asset management, brokering, issuer services, customer service and/or contact centres.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Significant experience liaising with stakeholders to understand needs, propose solutions and translate these for other members of the Squad.
  • Experience in agile requirements techniques including Personas, Story Mapping, Product Roadmaps, Backlog Management, etc.
  • Experience of Agile software development - working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, encouraging the adoption and continuous improvement of practices.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data and present it in accessible formats.
  • Certification as a Product Owner or equivalent is desirable.
