Location: Bristol or Edinburgh (Hybrid)

In this position, you'll be based in the Bristol or Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. This role has in-office operational requirements and so we're unable to consider employees who wish to continue an existing, fully remote working arrangement.

This role will operate within the Shared Services, People function and be responsible for and support activity across all regions globally.

The role holder will therefore be required to work across multiple disciplines within the People team, building knowledge and capability to include People Services, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Systems and Reward in order to provide effective support to projects and business as usual activities.

Under the guidance of and in coordination with the People Support Director, the People Support Consultant supports with complex requests and provides advice to employees and managers globally in relation to all people related policy, processes, activity and changes. Ensures governance and controls are in place and operating effectively across our people processes. Champions self-service and promotes the People Team by delivering excellent customer service.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing complex transactions during the on-boarding of new employees and within the employee lifecycle accurately and within SLA.
  • Provide advice and guidance on policy and process across the lifecycle of activity
  • Identify any trends in processing, system or automation errors.
  • Responsible for ensuring risk, compliance and data privacy process controls are met, covering audit, data access, compliance checking schedule for internal and third-party processes.
  • Provide training on processes and policies to new starters within the People Services team.
  • Build relationships across People Service & Delivery and related teams; Payroll, Employee Relations, Business Partnering, to ensure effective processing and escalation management.
  • Maintain a good level of communication with managers, employees and candidates around the status of their inquiry.
  • Manage own allocation of work whilst being able to work flexibly to support across the Services teams when required.
  • Support with reviewing work processes to identify areas for improvement and progress actions to improve outcomes for employees and managers.

What will you bring to the role?

The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a methodical approach and a meticulous eye for detail. A strategic thinker, who is curious and keen to learn - able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems where the answer is not obvious.

This individual should also possess:

  • Significant HR experience (formal HR qualifications preferred).
  • Global employment law or regulatory awareness
  • Experience as an HR Administrator with strong literacy and numerical skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong business awareness and understanding
  • Ability to successfully communicate across all levels of the business and build working relationships.
  • Comfort level with coaching and supporting more junior/ less experienced team members.
  • Ability to coach and support employees/ managers is using HR systems and processes
  • Be able to work as part of a team, be self-motivated to use your own initiative, able to make decisions/ investigate complex matters to support the resolution of employee queries
  • Understanding of any of the following language capabilities: German, Polish, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Mandarin, Swedish
