Computershare Plan Managers (CPM) is the division within Computershare responsible for providing administrative services, project management and plan design to Plan Manager clients and their individual employee share plan holders.

The Events Marketing Manager role operates within the employee share plans marketing team providing support to the business delivering an execeptional event experience for our clients and stakeholders. While predominantly focusing on Events in the North America regions, as the employee share plans team is a global team, there will be a requirement to work across and support other regions from time-to-time. The inividual will need to demonstrate experience working with external agencies and internal stakeholders in multiple regions.

The Events Manager is expected to work collaboratively with teams across the business, supporting continuous improvement and project related activity related to the role. All activity is to be delivered within agreed timescales, compliantly and to the appropriate quality standards.

A role you will love

The Events Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing global, local and internal events against marketing and business objectives. This includes planning, development and execution of virtual and physical events, that are targeted to clients as well as prospects, in all regions. The type of events include, but are not limited to, webinars, virtual and face-to-face client events, roundtables, industry events and workshops. This role is also responsible for managing its suppliers from an operation and budget perspective as well as measurement of event performance, event optimisation and return on investment.

The role works closely with the Marketing Business Partners, and the Marketing Delivery team to promote and follow-up on events, liaising with the Intelligence team to track performance.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Marketing Business Partners in each region to deliver compelling event and experience that drive engagement, leads, pipeline and revenue. This includes but is not limited to activity on trade conferences and exhibitions, client conferences, briefings/networking events, webinars, and hospitality.
  • Work with colleagues within the Delivery team to promote and deliver effective events within agreed budgets and timescales ensuring that the end-to-end client experience is consistent and seamless.
  • Project manage events end to end from pre-planning through wrap-up, post-event activities, for on time execution, managing competing priorities.
  • Develop and deliver breakthrough ideas and innovative event activities / tactics that drive engagement to continuously evolve event initiatives.
  • Advise Marketing Business Partners and Business Units on best practice and make recommendations to improve event outcomes based on the recorded performance versus marketing and business KPIs.
  • Own our digital event management system, registration platform and event communications - continuously improving all aspects of the end-to-end customer journey and driving internal efficiencies.
  • Own our virtual meeting and webinar platform - be the subject matter expert on how to conduct effective webinars.
  • Create feedback mechanisms, including surveys, to gather actionable feedback from events delegates
  • Measure event performance, event optimisation, audience generation and return on investments
  • Create metrics illustrating how each event has performed against pre-defined objectives, capturing learning points and recommendations for future events
  • Manage the day to day relationship and activities with external vendors, event partners, including source and review suppliers of all branded merchandise and events-related equipment in a cost effective manner
  • Ensure that thorough risk assessments are carried out for all events that we organise or attend
  • Actively improve systems and processes to support the ongoing success of the global team
  • Make decisions and be accountable for day to day event management issues and resolve problems in consultation with the Senior Marketing Delivery Manager where required.

What will you bring to the role?

You will bring significant experience of managing a variety of different events from in-person to virtual, ideally supported by a relevant qualification. Knowledge of local market requirements and regulations relating to events is key. While the role is predominantly B2B focused, B2C marketing experience is also an advantage. Knowledge of different event platforms such as Bizzabo and CVENT will be a plus.

Additionally, you will have extensive experience of creating and executing a wide variety of marketing events, within a dynamic matrix organisation, ideally in both a consumer marketing environment and a B2B marketing environment. Have proven experience working within financial services, professional services, or a highly regulated industry. Extensive experience managing Events in the North America market would be beneficial. It would be advantageous to have knowledge/experience in the employee share plans business.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Ability to provide clear verbal and/or written communications in relation to events activities and updates. The role holder will need to be able to manage internal stakeholders with tact, diplomacy, and assertiveness as well as liase with external vendors. Through negotiation and influence, the role holder will need the ability to overcome obstacles and see through plans.
  • Help shape and implement the Events strategy for Computershare's employee share plans business in the North America and Canada regions, as well as globally.
  • Provide support and guidance to the marketing team and stakeholders as the subject matter expert.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret customer and market data and analyse event return on investment. It also requires attention to detail and some evaluative judgment based on best practice and previous experience within a complex environment.
