A role you will love

The Escheatment Specialist is a member of the team who provides general ledger escheatment services. This person will review, schedule, and process unclaimed property reporting for delivery to the states in accordance with their Unclaimed Property requirements. The team member will work closely with the other members of the department to ensure the completion of all deliverables by internal and State deadlines.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Files state reports and remits unclaimed property in accordance with state rules, guidelines and best practices.
  • Balances and reconciles reports to discover and resolve any reporting discrepancies.
  • Prepares and coordinates printing and mailing of due diligence notices and posting of required advertising.
  • Provides research assistance to internal/external customers (Clients, Account Executives, Management).
  • Identify past due unclaimed property which could result in interest and/or penalty assessments.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Requires high attention to detail.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

What will you bring to the role?

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Required:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, interpret and gain a basic understanding of various state requirements.

Knowledge of or ability and willingness to quickly learn new technology platforms.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Proficient technology skills (specifically MS Word and Excel).

Team oriented but can work independently if required.

Creativity/problem solving ability.

Ability to negotiate and set personal priority and get work done within the timeframes established.

Preferred:

1-3 years direct experience providing unclaimed property escheatment services.

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $65k - $70k. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations: Jersey City, New Jersey | New York State.
